Import only recent email in an email conversation

We are thinking about creating a database to house emails based on subject and project.  HOwever, many of the emails are "conversations", that is, a reply to a reply, etc.  Is there is a way to differentiate to only pull in the most recent "reply"?

If you are using the entryid you could also look at the converstionid ... the longest conversationid is the latest mail.

The Message ID won't work as each email has one and the email only gets longer and longer with each iteration.  I don't want every single email with all the "conversation", I only want the most recent response or only the most recent reply to the "conversations".  So, If I understand you Chris, there is a conversationID that is associated with an email that consists of a string of replies to one after the other?  Then I can simply scan the email for the conversationid and check date for the most recent version?

Yes:

ConversationIndex is pretty much unique, the EntryID is PST folder specific.  If I recall correctly it increments with another 8 characters for every update on th e'conversation'.
