Bizarre Terminal Services Problem!

Hello everyone..

I've been unable to find the cause of this issue.  I have a client's 2003 server that they use for terminal services.  It performs fine except for this odd quirk.  When you click on ANYTHING.. icons.. whatever... it doesn't respond for quite some time (maybe 30 seconds) *BUT* if I click an icon and then tap the ALT key, it instantly causes it to respond to my mouse click rather than waiting.  I found this by accident - but why would pressing ALT  fix the hangup, and what can I do to restore it's normal response?  Weird weird weird..

It almost sounds like the ALT key is stuck or something.  Does it do this if you connect to it from a different machine as well?

Fixed...

Actually there was more to the story.  I finally found the answer and I've been after this for months.

Another major symptom was that network access was EXTREMELY slow from windows 7 machines unless autotuning disabled on that workstation.  Also, if you tried to do anything with the server's firewall, you'd get an error about IPNAT.SYS.

As it turns out, routing and remote access was enabled and was somehow causing all of these problems  I disabled it, re-enabled the regular windows firewall, and bingo.. all issues resolved.

This was the actual issue, and the real resolution to the problem.
