Is there a way to query the Report Manager and find all the subreports that are tied to a parent report?  I know the subreports for a report will be in the same folder as the parent report but I want an easy way to find out which subreports are tied to which parent report.

    Accepted Solution

I think there is. When you run this query on the ReportServer database:
    select Name, cast(cast(content as varbinary(max)) as varchar(max)) from dbo.Catalog
    where cast(cast(content as varbinary(max)) as varchar(max)) like '%subreport%'

You'll get a list of all the reports that use a subreport. You'll need to add some advanced T-SQL to use this to get a list of all the subreports used.

Another option would be to use the webservice ( to get the information you need.
