Am running Vista 64, on reboot it takes 15 - 20 minutes to load the desktop icons and to be usable. &nbsp;During this time the only process that shows is explorer.exe at about 25 - 30 % CPU usage. &nbsp;I have uninstalled norton, reinstalled norton, have done selective startup, did scan disk yesterday (took a total of about 14 hours), have removed driver for disconnected network printer, and probably about 20 other things.<br />

Not sure where to go, I am relatively novice at windows stuff, just need to use the computer.<br />

Once the 15 - 20 minutes go by and it finishes it's reboot, everything seems to work great.<br />

Apparent Windows Explorer issue

Windows Vista is an operating system created by Microsoft as the successor to Windows XP. It was intended for PCs, workstations and laptops, and shares the same code base as its successor, Windows 7. New features included an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Aero, a new search component called Windows Search, redesigned networking, audio, print and display subsystems, and new multimedia tools. Vista aimed to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network, using peer-to-peer technology to simplify sharing files and media between computers and devices.
