How do turn on the paste from the clipboard? <br />

When i copy anything in Windows 7, I can then paste it directly into most applications. <br />

Problem: If Word is not open before I select and copy something in windows, I can not then open Word and paste directly into a document. I must have my Word application open before I do the copy command of something in the Windows environment and then and only then will I have the option to paste directly into Word.<br />

In the past and on other computers I could select and copy anything and wether or not Word was open at the time, I could start the Word application and paste away.<br />

It would seem there is an option turn off or something within Word.
