This is the domain address that you want to have handled for inbound email, so if someone emails you at rgb@192.com, then you would add in 192.com as the domain. If you want it just for outbound, then try setting the domain to something like:

rgb192.local

how can I receive email from the world on my desktop computer

Typically, you cannot do it on a desktop computer just because your ISP will usually block mail that is trying to go to port 25 on your IP address. If you have a business-level account with your ISP, then they might allow this.

Hosting providers will allow email to go to port 25, but that requires you to set up a hosting plan first (which is usually a lot less expensive than a business account with your ISP).

However, hmailserver doesn't know any better. It doesn't know what your ISP will allow or not allow, so it simply wants to be prepared in case email comes in. That is why it requires the domain to be filled in that way.

Please remember that if you try to send email from your local internet account, you have a higher chance of getting your email blocked by spam filters. Many spammers send email straight from their desktop / local internet accounts, so many spam filters will look for that.

Your best chance at sending email successfully is to have a hosted server set up somewhere (I have mentioned Atlantic to you in previous questions) , have it use qmail or some other SMTP service, set up SPF and reverse DNS for your domain to point to your hosted server, and then send email through that server.
