VMWare Disaster Recovery/HA
Scenario:
2 Hosts with FC SAN at HQ running all production servers.
1 Host with FC SAN at DR Site
VPN Link between the sites.
VMWare Essentials Plus license.
Is there a way, by utilising VMware technology only, that we can have realtime replication of HQ VM's to the DR site (Active/Passive).
DR Site VM's can be powered off, just wondered if this was possible without involving 3rd party software.

Aha.
We are also getting Veeam, forgot to mention.
How would one configure Veeam to do this?

Would this be realtime, or scheduled once every night etc?
It can be set to replicate how often you want!
every day, 15 minutes, every hour....

Install another VMware Data Recovery appliance at DR Site, Copy the vDR database to DR site, and Restore VMs.

otherwise you will need to use Veeam Backup and Replication v6.

One of the newer features of VMware vSphere 5.1 (released end of August 2012) is vSphere Replication without the use of Site Recovery Manager!
So you may want to wait until then....
