Two things:

1) Set up 301 redirects from old category to new.

2) Make sure you publish an updated site map in Webmaster's tools.

Do both, not either/or
if u could send the screen shot of the crawl errors and the corresponding  sub pages even two or three links screenshot will do from google webmaster tools.

u have to create the pages again and do 301 redirect as this pages are present in google cache which its trying to access.
