Adobe CS4 install hangs mac

I have a MacBook Pro with a 2.3ghz i7 and 8gb RAM.

Mac OSX is 10.7.4.

Attempting to install a valid copy of Adobe CS4.
Every time I run the installer, it hangs at about 90% in to the first step of Checking System Profile.

I have followed every step on Adobe's help doc for this issue with no luck.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Can you upload the log files for us to take a look at?

It may be best to contact the Adobe Technical Support Centre. They can interpret the log files  quickly. I would post the log files here, and contact them at the same time so we can both look at your issue at the same time.
I've read some chatter there is an issue with Mac OS 10.7.4, CS4 and Java Runtime. You may want to try upgrading Java. If that doesn't work, then uninstall java and reinstall.

Also, you will be unable to upgrade from CS4 to CS6 after 2012. Maybe now is the time.

I uninstalled/reinstalled Java; used every cleanup tool out there but still no dice.

ended up reinstalling OSX (laptop was new in July, so not much data on it).  CS4 installed perfectly ...

unfortunately no solution worked other than to scratch troubleshooting and reload the OS.
