filling a polygon with color

Hi there,

I must use Adobe Fireworks CS5.

Let´s say I create three line segments to form a triangle (not equilateral, not specific, general). I would like to "connect" the three vertices for the fireworks to understand that this is a limited region, and after that I want to color that region.

Please help step-by-step to do the bold part. Please do not teach me how to do another thing. I want to learn how to proceed as mentioned in the above paragraph.

Thanks,
fskilnik.

Is it that you want to create a triangle, or close a region?

To close a region, use the Polygon Lasso Tool, then you should be able to fill the selected region using the Properties panel.

To create a triangle and fill with a color, use Autoshapes and the Properties panel to fill the triangle.

Hi Paul,

Is it that you want to create a triangle, or close a region?

I want to be able to create any polygon (not necessarily with only 3 sides) and make Fireworks turn it into a region to be able to Modify > Combine Paths > Intersect (paths).

Perhaps the bold is not exactly in the program, by the way, because I´ve freely translate these options from the Portuguese version of the program.

To close a region, use the Polygon Lasso Tool, then you should ...

I´m not "an artistic" fellow, therefore I don´t have expertise to be able to do that with precision (perhaps that video explains how to do it with good precision, but I need a more easy-and-quick way, if possible). I´ll close this post and consider the question answered because this really solves the problem, but please go back to the same question (the newer post) where you could help me again, but in a way that I believe it would be better for my purposes...

To create a triangle and fill with a color, use Autoshapes and the...

I don´t want to choose from options, I want to create "irregular" polygons...

Please remember that there is more than one way to skin a cat!

You´re absolutely right, but from past experience people sometimes would teach me how to use the polygon tool to create a (equilateral) triangle, for instance. In other words, many people try to answer what they know how to do, and not what we are asking about...  :)

Well, see you in my other post, please!

Thanks a lot,
fskilnik.

P.S.: please give me some minutes to post my question there!!

I´m pretty sure Paul will get an "A" with another solution of his, in my other post related to the same matter (here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Photos_Graphics/Images_and_Photos/Q_27839519.html)
