bad motherboard or bad power supply.
Make sure the cords that plug into the PWR and RESET pins on your motherboard are connected properly.

What do you mean, no display?
How do you know your computer is on if there is no display, do you still have to press the power button?

I think it's the power supply - try swapping in another.  If nothing changes, it's probably the motherboard.  Bad cpus are very low probability.  What happened to the machine to cause this?  If it was a power outage or surge, everything in the system is suspect, as a blown power supply can ruin anything connected to it.
