Java: is it possible to embed a database with my app (jar file)?

Hello Experts,

I am dealing with a large number of sets and can't use Vectors to populate JTables without filling up my heap....

Is is possible to use a local db for my app? embedding it with my app (jar file)...
if yes, which ones?
