Struggling to rank

Hi,

Any advice here, struggling to get http://www.driving-school-aberystwyth.co.uk ranking for driving school in aberystwyth and realted terms. I would think with the domain name and the keyword rich home I'd have no trouble getting to top 10. Not even on page 5 at present and no idea what I'm doing wrong.

I have keywords, domain, alt tags, some inbound links etc. Still no joy. Am I missing something?

Your website is only registered a month! - Search engines will not rank your site with any relevance at this early stage.  If after 3 months there is no improvement then it's time to start asking questions.
Your page is 1.1MB in size!
You have 15 javascript files - if you cannot remove some of them then at least try and combine some if not all of them.

Check a few things here

Edit
Also checked google search and there is a strong competitive market there for driving schools.
But as your site matures it should start ranking better.

Think of managing your seo like you are driving a super tanker and not a speed boat. You just registered you domain last month.  These things take time to start and change (unless you get maleware, then google shuts you off pretty fast).

1) Are you on g+?  Forget that it is not heavily used. Google puts it in the search results.

2) Do you have a google local page?  similar for bing? Or any local uk search engine?

3) Add your site here http://www.dmoz.org/ to just one category.  It takes time to get listed.

4) Google your url like, "driving-school-aberystwyth.co.uk" with quotes.  What do you see?  2 pages and one is a problem http://www.driving-school-aberystwyth.co.uk/wp-content/themes/striking/images/social/

5) Did you create a site map with webmaster tools?

6) You have a wordpress site so it should be easy to add new articles each week or more that are not copy pasted from someplace else.

7) Have you submitted press releases about your site?  Write a great article about student drivers without the content promoting your own business and submit that to the news.  If you are not a super writer, it's worth the money to hire somebody.

8) Seek out legit local businesses you can exchange links with.

9) Keep adding well written content on a regular basis...

Google does not generally give page rank for about 3 months.  It does not index content generated from scripting.  Spiders are not capable of processing script for the most part. They process what you see if you view source.

The page you see is not what the spiders see. The slide show does virtually nothing for you, and because of it virtually all indexable content is below the fold.  Plus you do not have title attributes on your links.
