Hi! What would be an equivalent to the Apache/PHP duo for Websocket server side programming?

It seems everyone knows how to make use of Websockets on the client side but few would know how to build the server side of a large application using ws/wss

What are your thoughts?

There are server implementations in nearly every (popular) runtime environment you can think of.

Afaik, so far no platform has shown market leadership, so in your case I would select a platform that I can understand and support, and keep an open eye for emerging technologies.

here you can find links to some of the websocket servers in node.js, java, php, .net, and python.
