How to hand write on Computer screen?

I am looking for a product that will help me hand write and perhaps draw into a digital file on a computer (like MS Word) directly using a pen instead of typing and using mouse.

Is Wacom the best for this purpose? or are there other better products?

Thanks.

Today's multitouch tablet PC's usually have this functionality and also software already included.
Another option:

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 – Android ICS 4.0, Quad Core Processor, S Pen & MicroSD : http://www.samsung.com/us/2012-galaxy-note-wifi/
Hi There!

For Smart Phone and Tablet Google has a cool thing out called Handwrite

Something still in Development that will be epic when it hits is Leap Motion

But like you said Wacom is the best for drawing or writing on a flat surface.
I'm not sure what Wacom has for drawing directly on the screen...  could you provide some model numbers or links?

Probably about any touch-screen overlay will convert your current monitor, but you didn't tell us what size it is.
e.g. http://www.ssidisplays.com/touch-screen-overlay
http://www.nextwindow.com/products/2400/2400_touchscreen.html
http://touchsystems.com/?_kk=touch%20overlay

Or you could buy a touchscreen monitor, such as this one from Dell
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004TK9ZFI

Note if you want features such as being able to zoom in and out by pinching and spreading a thumb and finger, you will need one that supports multi-touch. If all you will be doing is writing or drawing on it, that ability may not be required.
