Skype locks up my keyboard

While on a Skype video call, I can't type or use the keyboard.  It either doesn't let me type at all, or it acts like the key is stuck and when I type a character, it fills up the entire field, like I've pressed it and not let up.  As soon as the call is over, everything is fine.  I can use the mouse and click on anything, but I can't type characters, in skype or any other program.   Thanks in advance.

Is Skype running latest version? Did you check webcam's driver version as well?
