Breaking up a tab delimited string in VB.NET

I have a tab delimited string. I want to assign each "piece" of this string to a variable. The format of the string is always in the same format.

i.e.
strMyString = "12/25/78           1:00 PM     414213431     Douglas F. Ir     ABCDEFG"

What is the best way to do this?
