Server Reboot
I was trying to join a admin on his RDP session. I am also an admin. The Server 2008 R2 Standard box immediately rebooted.
I was told the two administrators should not share a session on a server.
Could that have caused the reboot?
If so why?
Thanks.

No, it typically will just disconnect the other session, not reboot
Was it truly an unexpected reboot? You should check the event viewer for errors.
Is it possible that patches were applied and rebooted the server?

Yes it simply shut down. No warning. I did check the Event Viewer. It only shows the machine went down. Then a few minutes later you see all the services starting up. No reason for the shut down.
Thanks.
Thanks.
But if it were a crash, there you should have an entry that the server restarted unexpectedly.
They are bluffing you !!!
one session can be taken by #mstsc
Second session can be taken by #mstsc /admin
