New iPad 3.

When I click on a link in Chrome or Safari or when I try to open a web clip I get a URL with ohttp instead of http and the link will not open.

Any suggestions?

Well the error is in the address... Chrome or Safari does not understand the link provided...
Is this issue only happening on a particular website? Where the links are purposefully incorrect format to keep bots and programs from stealing the links?
I.e the web page purposefully lists the link as hxxp://www.google.com
So that An "intelligent user" (human) will be able to fix the link while a "dumb user" (a bot) will simply not understand the link

It happens with all links within emails in the built-in Mail app and all Home Screen links created with Safari. It doesn't happen when navigating in Safari or Chrome for iPad or in GMail for iPad. I have not thouroughly checked other apps with internal links

You can try to restore your IPAD which should  correct this problem as it seems either there some setting changed within your ipad or the links you are clicking going to a sepecific site only where the links are purposefully incorrect format to keep bots and programs from stealing the links?

Check to ensure that no other apps are doing this.

The posters solutions didn't help but I want to give them credit for responding.  The solution I've posted was the 'solution'.
