Windows 7 Pinned Taskbar Items Disappear

We have a user running Windows 7 SP1 that when working in Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard that once they close out of the program all of the pinned icons down on their taskbar disappear. The only way to bring them back is to reboot the system. I have attempted to remove the pinned items from the pinned cache and re-pin them but it still happens. As a work around I have added a toolbar that points to the cache folder as a backup for now until we can find a resoultion.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!!

If explorer.exe is crashing this would probably do it.  Have you run updates for Adobe Acrobat 6?  Last I heard Acrobat 6 wasn't compatible/supported in Windows 7

mltets--
Is Adpbe Acrobat the only problem causing the icon disappearance?

Acrobat 6 seems compatible with Win 7 per MS

The user has figured out that the icons only disappear when they close out of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard. I did see on the list that was provided that it is considered compatible for Win 7. I'm waiting for the user to check for updates and see if that helps. They are a telecommuter so it's not as easy to get my hands on their system.

I've passed on the suggestion about locking the taskbar. I'm not sure if it is set, but if not we'll give it a try.

Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard is up to date and the taskbar is locked but it's still happening. We're in the process of trying a new profile on the box to see if that helps.

Try clean boot

Click start- type - mscofig - hit enter- click on startup tab- click disable all....the click on services tab- put a check on hide all microsoft services....the click disable all..click ok and restart the computer.

After restarting check

Creating a new profile did not work. We'll try the msconfig changes and see if that helps.

Working on trying to arrange a time with the user who is a telecommuter and very busy. Right now the first time I can get together with them is next week Monday.

Tried turning off the msconfig settings but ended up locking us out from being able to support the person so I had to walk them through turning them back on. I'm currently in the process of upgrading them to a slightly newer version of the program to see if that will help.

The 8.0 version of Adobe Acrobat works as expected. Even though Microsoft says 6.0 is Windows 7 compatible it obviously isn't for all the new features for the OS.
