[SQL Server 2008 R2] SQL Agent does not start

SQL Agent is not able to start. Any idea why and how I can fix it ?

    Check the application event log and post the error that you are getting there.
    Are you evaluation edition?

    what is the error message?

    are you using SQL Express (which will never start in this case)

    if you have given wrong password for sql agent service then it will fail to start
