SharePoitn FAX Service Folder in SBS 2008 - Allow users to delete FAX

Posted on 2012-08-25

We are running am SBS 2008 Domain, using SharePoint as the delivery option for all incoming Fax transmissions. Users have the SP Fax folder in sync with Outlook 2010, so that folder appears in their Outlook folder list where they can view incoming FAX.

However, the folder is Read Only. This makes it an administrative task to clear out or move old FAX items.

How do we set the user permissions on the SharePoitn FAX library, and/or in SP to allow users to delete old FAX items from that library?

You should add the appropriate users to the Windows SBS SharePoint_OnwersGroup in the SBS Console

I do not know that I wanted these office users to have such high level admin permisisons in SP, but this did allow them to delete the FAX achives they wanted to clean up. Thanks.
