Storage view not visible in VMware ESXi 5.0 on Hardware Status tab
I am running VMware ESXi 5.0 on an HP Proliant DL360 G5 server and I am unable to see the status of internal disk drives in this host.
I have installed the current version (1.2 release 6/4/12) of the HP Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 5.0. After install, I rebooted the host and there was nothing new added to the Hardware status tab for this ESXi host.
I would like to know if anyone else has had this same problem and how it can be corrected. Right now, I am able to see the status of two ESXi 5.0 hosts running on Dell PowerEdge 1950 servers but I cannot see it on my four different HP Proliant DL360 G5 servers.
Thank you.

I did install the VMware version of ESXi 5.0. Is there no other way to do this if you do not have the OEM version of ESXi?
The servers are 4 years old and did not come with VMware.
Thanks.

You don't have to purchase it through HP then? Download from there and use my license keys from VMware?
I appreciate your advice.

That is correct. They are just providing an image with the HP tool embedded. After you install, you just need to enter the license keys you have already purchased.

HP ESXi 5.0 is a FREE download from HP.
It's always better to use the HP version.
But please note, you cannot perform any RAID manamgement function still with the HP version. Only view Hardware Health Status of items.

The symptoms you have reported can occur, if you complete a VMware installation, followed by OEM bundle update.
