Windows Forms App Skeleton

I'm accustomed to Delphi and am trying to switch to VS12/C# but just getting to the point where I can try some things seems to take forever.  The templates are pretty minimal (they don't have standard menus, docking panels, etc.) so I looked for something more built out.  I've not found anything and I am about to start writing something to save  as a starting point for future products - but EVERYTHING is new and even that is taking me forever.

Can someone point me to a Forms App template with more features than the stock one?  Or am I approaching this wrong?
