Hi All,

I am in need of some urgent and desperate help with this one. For some unknown reason we are receiving Delivery delayed email responses when attempting to send external mail.

Nothing at this has changed and I have ensured that our domain is not blacklisted, which it is not. So I am not sure what to do here.

Any suggestions and advise would be greatly appreciated.

If the delay message is comign from your server then look in the queue viewer and see what the error codes say. Confirm that you can telnet from the Exchange server to a remote server on port 25. If you are using a smart host, verify that it is the correct one and if speak to the operator to see if they have changed anything. While you may not have changed anything, your ISP might have done - for example blocked port 25 outbound.

For some unknown reason we are receiving Delivery delayed email responses when attempting to send external mail - Is this happening for all External domains ? or some ?

Where did you check for Blacklist ?

Do you have any AV .... where are the emails getting delayed if you check Queues ?

Is the mailflow from HUB or you have multiple sites, EDGE or Firewall does the routing to external ?

Check the firewall and servers for free space and services started and try to send an email to Gmail or any recipient check its header for understanding where the delay is ahppening.

our ISP had blocked traffic on port 25. using a smart host rectified this issue.
