IE will not run in Parallels XP

I'm running Mountain Lion / Parallels. Last nite, for some unknown reason, my internet doesn't connect. The modem is fine and I've got the internet via Safari on the Mac side, but IE8 cannot connect.

I'm looking for any virus on maleware, but I'm not seeing anything. Any suggestions?

Maybe by accident you changed the network settings in IE? Can you check if it's still correct?
Check your parallels settings, maybe you've done something wrong.

Your networksettings needs to be like the following:

In parallels go to the virtual machine menu, then options. When that opens a new window click the hardware tab. Then select network from the options. Make sure it is clicked so it connects the parallels network to the mac side so you can get on ie. Make sure it says shared network in that drop down box and not one of the others.

Thanks for the feedback, folks! I was able to connect with the Parallels team and they pointed out how a recent update to Parallels 7 necessitated a reinstall of Parallels Tools. That got my internet back up and running. I also uninstalled AVG Free version and went with Kaspersky and all is well!
