mxdomainmgr.exe (HP System Insight Manager) takes all RAM

Hi,
the process "mxdomainmgr.exe" (which belongs to HP System Insight Manager) takes all RAM on my W2008 server and slows down the server.

Is there any way to prevent this service from doing that?

SIM does like a lot of RAM, how many servers are you monitoring with it?

Well, I need to say that this x64 server has only 3 GB Ram, I am willing to upgrade this.
I am monitoring 7 servers, it takes 1,9GB Ram

Probably worth using SIM for 8 servers rather than configuring each one individually to send email notifications.

1.9GB isn't excessive, you can see the tweaks needed to increase the java heap size just to get it to start in http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ITRC-HP-Systems-Insight-Manager/Java-Heap-Space-settings-java-lang-OutOfMemoryError-Java-heap/td-p/5078090#.UDujV6CzkXY

Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

How can I do this?

Roughly Start, programs, hp system tools, Insight Management Agents,  Insight Event Notifier (path may be a bit wrong but sure you'll find it if 300 series or above). Run the HP Event Notifier Configuration Wizard.

Then in control panel HP management agents you can chose what to send email notifications for.

It's not quite as powerful as SIM, it can't send email if the host is down of for example.

ok, thanks, I can configure my smtp settings and recioients in Insight Event Notifier, but still can't find the place to configure for what sending mails.
Where is the "Control panel HP management agent" located?

Should be a HP management agents icon in control panel.

Ah, ok, thanks, I found it.

At all - it is a workarround, but not a solution. I will upgrade my RAM to see how SIM is going than.

Well, you may need that control panel applet for full blown SIM too since it decides which events are monitored for both SNMP and SMTP.

So, now I have updated the RAM to 10GB. SIM takes 2,1GB of it, the server is running better now.
Thanks for all the info!

Raising the RAM size prevent server from hanging.
