It's the cost of a licence of the Mac OS X. But you're still need to do some 'hacking' bacause Mac doesn't want you to run it through a VM. I've created mine with Snow Leopard (for the CD) and bought the update to Lion.

You're creating a hackintosh. Below a link that explains it.

You can't open the mac os x disk file with you vmware. VMware on Windows doesn't support mac os x by default. Probably you've download a vmware disk file from the internet to open it.

Then you should do some unlocking.

Normally this isn't something we encourage doing, because it's not legal. So I guess this will be closed by an administrator.

Have you rebooted?

Maybe you've missed something. In the post I've given. All the steps that you need to follow are in there. If you do it like described it will work. You'll also need to correct version of VMware workstation 8 to run it.

Take a look in your virtual machine configuration file where he places the logs from it. It can be that this is disabled. Then you'll need to enable it.

Your VMware image doesn't work ;) it's broken. Don't know if it already was broken when you downloaded it.

The Mac OS X image is corrupt. Nothing wrong with your vmware. But the image of Mac OS X is corrupt.

Which version of Mac OS X is preffered one?

XaelianCommented:
I've used Mac OS X 10.7.1 on my VMware (legal one). But when you download a VM, you got 80% change that it's a corrupt one.
