Installing new database on SQL Server

Good day,

We have SQL Server 2008 installed on a virtual server-KYSQL1P

I need to install a restored version of a SQL 2005  database onto this server. When I attempt to register the new server from within Enterprise Manager, I get a login error upon test. I think I need to nmake sure tha t i have rights to perform this type of operation before procedding. Please advise.

Thanks! :)

When moving a db from one server to another you may need to change owner on the new server.

Thanks, DJCanter,

But I cannot even connect to the server through Management Studio. Although I can see the registered server in the local server group, I cannot connect to it. Since I cannot connect to it, I cannot restore the database to it and run the chabge owner query. See the attached file.

Thanks!
