Group policy client (local computer)

One of W2K8 R2 servers stopped communicating/updating with WSUS server.
During the troubleshooting was discovered that:
1. The service status is stated "Started"
2. All controls in GPC properties are grayed out, and I'm unable make any changes
3. At the same time Event Tracker (PrizmMicrosystems) is reporting that the GPC service is NOT running.

Is it common for the GPC properties to be grayed out, or what's the problem and how fix it?

Thank you.

    Accepted Solution

It is common for it to be grayed out.

Another way to look at the GP Client service status is to run
    sc query gpsvc

You can run the GP Results Wizard to determine what the GP settings are that will be applied on this machine.
