MS Access 2007 Login Prompt

I have a computer that when opening any access database it prompts for a password even if the database does not have security.

if I open those databased on another computer it opens fine.

Anyone can tell me how to get this resolved in the computer.

You are pointed to the wrong workgroup file, the workgroup file has been replaced, or someone set a password on the admin user in the current workgroup.

You can get to the work group administrator by following the instructions here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918583

or if you have an older version of Access, simply execute it from:

 C:\Windows\System32\WRKGADM.EXE

The default workgroup by the way is in:

C:\Documents and Settings\Default\Application Data\Microsoft\Access

 and it's called System1.mdw

You can copy it over from the other PC if someone has changed it by mistake (make a backup first by renaming it to .old just in case if you do).

and one more thing that I forgot; if you use the workgroup admin program, you can simply create a new workgroup file rather then transferring it to your PC from the other one if that's easier.

I found that in Windows 7 if you remove the "system.mdw" it fixes the issue. The path for this file is at C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Access

[user name] = the user profile that is having the issue.
