I am having some SharePoint issues and lots of errors after performing a domain rename.  Does anyone have any experience with handling Sharepoint after a Domain Rename?

Thanks,
Anna

Every account and service account needs to be updated in SharePoint, and I assume SQL.  Renaming the domain is a huge deal.

Renaming Farm Acct:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262150.aspx
Renaming Service Accts in Central Admin - Update Service Accounts
Updating end user account names:  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262141.aspx

You are also going to need to take a peek at your SQL permissions.  Any service account still referencing the old domain needs updated.

Thanks Achilles but this is for a bank so remote access is not allowed.  I have already manually updated the service accounts in Sharepoint and SQL...
So...I am thinking at this point I should so fresh install of Sharepoint then import the databases?  Any good instructions for that? I rarely work with Sharepoint..

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

If you do a re-install of SharePoint, you have to do it to the exact same build number as your current.  You'll have to manually create your web applications, then attach your old database(s) to them.  You'll have to manually reconfigure service apps / SSP, Search, etc.

How exactly did you rename/update your SharePoint accounts?  Also, what error is displayed when you browse to your site?
