Dell N5010 Laptop - Still having the PXE Issue related to harddrive

I ran diagnostics and it says
cables : pass
system: pass
harddrive: DST Short Test: Harddrive not detected

What could be the issue? The controller bad? I can't get the cdrom too boot either, but n a previous question related to this it was stated that the cdrom will not detect a lot of times if the hdd is bad.

This is a new drive so please help me resolve this not sure what to do at this point..
Thanks

Probably a bad sata controller. "cdrom will not detect a lot of times if the hdd is bad" this was true on older systems when the hdd and optical drive were on the same IDE channel but I have never seem this with sata, which leads me to believe the sata controller is having issues which requires a motherboard replacement to fix. Its possible the interposer board is bad or loose but that shouldn't stop the optical drive from booting.

ensure the cables are snuggly connected both to the mobo and the drives. Check the bios to see if the drives are detected. You may need to change the settings if the hard drive to be backwards compatible with the IDE.
