ARCServe and Backup Exec 12.5 on the same backup server

I've got a backup server running Windows 2003 SP2 R2 with two backup softwares installed.
The server ran Symante Backup Exec 12.5 before we installed ARCserve on it.

However due to insufficient agents on ARCserve I want to move all functionality back to Backup Exec but I'm having troubles connecting to the tape library.

Does anyone know what how to solve this problem?

    Accepted Solution

I know BackupExec likes to use its own device drivers for the tape drives.  ArcServe might have replaced it.  Go to BackupExecs site and download the latest drivers for your tape drive and try again.

Stop all ARCserve  service then restart the BackupExec service to get the tape device.
