HP Smart Array P410i

Dear Experts,

i have HPDL385G7 server, Solaris V10 installed...
the serevr hangs and keep restarting, i look @ server and found ONE HDD shows redlight.
while restarting i saw wrror msg "Smart Array P410i in embadded slot cache status problem detected. the cache on this controller has a problem, to prevent data loss configuration changes to this controller are not allowed. please replace cache to be able to continue to configure controller"

any help would be highly appreciated.

    Replace the Controller's battery, and if that doesn't help also it's RAM modules with tested good ones.

    Also try HP's SmartStart CD and use Array Diagnostic Utility.

    What RAID level do you have, if it's RAID 10 you can remove the cache module plus battery and run without them albeit slower.
