Hi,
we're having a problem with the memory of our Cisco2821 router. It is peaking to 100% every day and we have to restart it every morning. This problem has been happening for the last 3 weeks and there has been no changes applied to the router.

Looks like a memory leak. Have you done a bug check for the IOS version?

How much RAM is installed?

You'll need a CCO login.

I just ran your IOS version. over 2,000 known issues. Quite a few with "chunk" and "nat" referenced.

I would update the IOS.

And personally, I avoid "T" versions. I like to think the T stands for "testing" since these versions will typically implement new features. ;-)

12.4 was the last release before v15 came out. If you want to stay with 12, I would go with the latest non-T code. Looks like 12.4.22

If you want to move up to 15, then 15.1.4

we upgraded to  c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-25f.bin and memory seem to be stable at 83%. Has been at this level since the 28th.
However, before it used to stay at around 50% till it started peaking. Is there any way for me to monitor what should have caused it ?

"show process memory" will display all the running processes and how much memory they are using.
