Windows XP remote computer can't share or change printer settings in remote desktop session on Win Server 2008 r2. I have set the resources to include printers in the RDP session also. The printer shows in the session & i can print to it but When I try to change any settings on the printer, like share it, it is greyed out. I have added the RDP user to the printer operators group but still is greyed out. I start the RDP session as admin & still the same.

To the best of my knowledge you can NOT share a printer that is connected via an RDP session.

The printer on the XP computer is shared with another PC on the local network. Shouldn't that transfer when the RDP session starts?

Shouldnt WHAT transfer?

Are you saying that you expect the fact that a printer is shared on the local PC with Another PC on the network to be reflected on the server when you RDP to it?

No, sorry.
