USB Bar Code scanner / RDS Server

We utilize USB connected bar code scanners to scan order information into a browser based management system.  We are now trying to move away from full desktop computers and onto thin clients using RDS.  When we scan an order from the local PC we get a number like this:  %200154$1$0$0$10%  which is correct.  When I scan that same order with the same gun through and RDS session we get this: 52001544140404105  which doesn’t have the correct parsing for the system.  Is there anything that needs to be adjusted on the RDS server or the RDS connection to push this through correctly?

Can you confirm what version of RDS you are using?  Is it server 2008 R2 or earlier?  USB direction is not perfect by default on standard RDS and you may need to get an enhancement to make it work.

Can you also comment on what the client device is that you are using?  is it s a thin client or a standard windows desktop and if so what OS is on it and service pack.

let me know and i can hopefully give you some more info.  Thanks.

I am connecting to a 2008 R2 RDS server.  In my testing I am using a Windows 7 PC.  When I scan on the PC itself everything is fine.  When I conenct to RDS from that PC the scan works but it doesnt include the $ parsing so our app doesnt recgonize the data.
