CUCM 7.1 Status message on extension

I have an extension 5900 that rings on 2 phones. I was wondering is there a way to put a status message on the extension that basically says "all systems are up please wait while you are connected to IT".

Should I create an AA for this? because the way it is set up now it just rings on the other 2 extensions so I know I will have to change the way it is set up at the moment.

Thanks for any help on this.

Yes - set up an AA to play a message and then forward the call to 5900.

Doing it that the AA would have to be another extension correct?

or would I simply create a new call handler and point it to 5900?

    Accepted Solution

Well I would set up a call handler and then there is an option where you specify what action to take after playing the greeting.  That is where you would attempt transfer to 5900.
