copy folders to SD ?

Samsung Galaxy S (19003) - How can I copy all my folder that I see on my phone to an external SD card? I thought there would be a parent folder that I could copy but apparently at the top level there are all these folders.

    -i think you must root the mobile to copy all the folders from internal memory
    -as for copying from SD all the contents, you could use a cardreader
