Installing a printer
My OS is win 7 prof 64 bit and I have a xeoxx 4500 Phase which is a laser printer, black.
When printing a pdf document I was getting a printer error, so I decided to download the latest printer driver from the site and install. But my printeris connected to one of the USB ports in a hub. How do I find out which usb port it is connected so that when I want to choose the location can point it there.
Or is there another way of installing the printer automatically.
Thank u.

It shouldn't ask you for a specific port. It should just recognize that a USB printer is connected.

When installing the printer drivers/software, many times the instructions state that you should not connect your printer USB until asked. The software usually reaches a point where a screen comes up and prompts you to plug in the USB.
If it is asking which port to use, one of your choices should be "USB".
If it is asking which port to use, one of your choices should be "USB".

I n response to Nobus, the error message was :
ERROR: configuratonerror
OFFENDING COMMAND: setpagedevice
STACK:
-dictionary-
and in response to stevenpcguy, I deleted the old printer icon, and reinstalled a new printer, and used the USB001 port, the Test print of the page did not print.
I deleted the documents in the print Q, and tried to print from an ASCII editor, and when I looked a the printQ, the status says : error - Printing
I deleted the icon, and tried again, but this time I checked Not to share the printer on the network. When I did a test print, the priner status screen, shows "printing", but nothing was happening. Even when I set another document to print, the same thing.
Thank u for your assistance.

In response to stevepcguy, congratulations on such analytic skills, u were right, when I switched to another hub, it prined. Sill cannot figure out why that hub failed because I have other equipment plyugged in and they all work. Maybe it must be that particular port. Thank u so much, my ink jet takes up so much ink.
