IE9 prevents application

We run an application that cannot function properly using IE9 but our WSUS server pushes this update as a critical update (by microsoft design).  We deployed the tool through GPO that was supposed to make this a non critical update (blocker tool from microsoft) but it has not seemed to work.  Are there any other ways to prevent the IE9 install/upgrade or I will need to post a gpresult for GPO troubleshooting?

Thanks experts.

BianaryBarbarian--It is not clear whether you would rather install or not install this application.
If not install you can hide the update.  Right click on the update in the updates offered list and you will be offered Hide Update.

If you want to install, we will need to know more, such as error messages.  Can you tell us the name and/or KB of the update?

I apologize for any confusion, we do NOT want IE9 to be installed by default on machines across our WAN.  Currently we have to remote into the affected machines an manually degrade IE back to IE8 for our application to work properly.

We want to prevent the update from occurring completely.

BianaryBarbarian--Hide the update as explained above.

After trying multiple ways to do this, hiding the updates seems to have fixed our issue.
