Thanks again for this. I'm going to install 2008 dc at the DR site and make it a secondary license server. I'm going to post a question regarding everything needed at the dr site to allow users to login to the remote server. I'll post the link here later.

I believe my VM server 2003 terminal server uses another server as the license server. My questions are as follows:<br />

1) Can I run the terminal server from the DR site and have up to 25 people remote in while the licensing server is at the office, which may not have power so would be inaccessible?<br />

2) If not, can I move the licenses to the terminal server itself or to another server at the DR site?<br />

VMware, a software company founded in 1998,  was one of the first commercially successful companies to offer x86 virtualization. The storage company EMC purchased VMware in 1994. Dell Technologies acquired EMC in 2016. VMware’s parent company is now Dell Technologies.

VMware has many software products that run on desktops, Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS, which allows the virtualizing of the x86 architecture.  Its enterprise software hypervisor for servers, VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi), is a bare-metal hypervisor that runs directly on the server hardware and does not require an additional underlying operating system.

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server. Important upgrades included integrating Internet Information Services (IIS), improvements to Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP), and the migration to Automated System Recovery (ASR).

The term "Backup" means the methods and processes involved to copy computer data (system data as well as application data) to media other than the ones where the data originally live (disk, tape, optical, cloud).
