I have a brand new out of the box DELL PE420 with several NIC cards -

Running through the ESXI installer - says it cannot find any suitable NICS and aborts the install.

Any thoughts?

did you download the ESXi 5.0 installation media from Dell?

there is a R420, T420 and M420 on the Hardware Compatibility List

is your server one of those?

Enter the Tag Number on the Dell Site, and download the media from Dell.
What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

if it's not in the HCL, there is a reason it failed certification.

you want ESXi 5.0 Update 1
