Unable to initiate Dijit checkboxes in an uninitiated state

I am trying to initiate Dijit checkboxes in an unchecked state.  No matter what I put in for the 'checked' value, the resulting CheckBox is always checked.  For example, if I use the line:

<input id="cb2" dojotype="dijit.form.CheckBox" name="Parcels" checked=false value="something" type="checkbox" />

the box will be checked.  I've used "false", "unchecked", 0, and several other values for the checked property, to no avail.

    Accepted Solution

    Don't put in any checked attribute.  The default is unchecked.  For most browsers just having checked as an attribute means checked = true

    That's very weird, but it does work!
