regarding configuring email service for sharepoint 2010

Respected sir,

  i would like to configure email services in sharepoint 2010 without using exchange server 2010 can you please help me the procedure if possible with detail screen shoots

It's as simple as going to central admin and typing the server name of your email provider.... for outgoing email eg alerts and workflow.

If you don't handle email internally than incoming email eg setting up a list to receive emails could be a problem as each list will have a unique address.

When you say not exchange, do you mean a different internal mail system or do you mean a service provided by your ISP?

   my idea was there is a mail service available in server 2008 can we use that i would like to use that to configure sharepoint 2010, can you please help me ,

You can use local SMTP server which is on your sharepoint server.
