I have this message on my blade centre, how do I configure it to balance the power?

Need to know which bladecenter you have, they're normally split into two power domains with the left ones in one domain and the right hand ones in the other, see for example (may be different model than yours)

We have a IBM BladeCenter Chassis with 2000W PS x 4. Along with this, we also have a DS4700 SAN. We currently have 14 blades which are all operational within a 42-U IBM Rack.

Still need to know which bladecenter it is, I would guess bladecenter E. lists them all maybe you could confirm from that.

If it is BladeCenter E you can get higher wattage PSUs for it or replace it with a BladeCenter H which also has more power available or remove one of the first 6 blades that are on power domain 1. You could even replace the CPUs with lower power ones but that's a bit expensive.

What happened was that IBM designed it for blades/CPUs at the time then released later blades that needed more power and so in your case there isn't enough to run the whole thing at full speed on single PSUs. Should a PSU/feed fail for power domain 1 it will instruct the first 6 blades to slow down their clock speed to reduce power, that's better than it powering off one blade entirely.

There's a discussion of it on
