Is there a difference when using quotes like "field1" or 'field1'?

    The single quotes can be used inside double quotes, if needed, so by using single quotes you limiit your options for what 'field1' can be.

    No.  Either can be used in Crystal to denote a string.  The advantage is that if you string needsto have a ' in it then use " " as the string delimiter.  If your string needs to include a " then use the ' 'as the string delimiter.

    In most cases either works.
