Remove exchange settings container from AD Sites and Services

Hi ,

We run Microsoft Exchange Enterprise Edition SP2 and we had the microsoft active directory connector service installed on Citrix servers.
I removed this service from all citrix servers but it is still showing on some servers in AD sites and Services - please see attached screenshot.

Is it ok to delete citrix03 and Citrix07 in this instance.

Thanks in advance,

Best Regards

JP

It's ok to delete the ADC Service for citirix03 and 07, if that's what you're asking.  If the uninstall wasn't done correctly, they'll show back up.  You should troubleshoot replication and AD connectivity, as you shouldn't need to remove connectors manually.

If these servers are no more used in the environment and dont need to be linked with Sites than surely you can without a thought :)

Hi Rancy/Matt

Thanks for your comments but these (Citrix03 and 07) are still production servers but the ADC service is no longer required.

Would there be any impact on the server if you delete these containers in AD sites and Services.

Many Thanks

Hi Rancy,

I have removed the ADC from Add/Remove programs on both servers Citrix03 and Citrix07 but it is still showing in AD sites and services.

Would it still be ok to delete them from AD Sites and Services.

AD sites and services - its not the same as ADC ..... ADSites is just a point that tell which server is in which AD site ............ both are 2 different things :)

I would say to delete if there isnt an issue and not sure if Citrix servers also need to be associated with an AD site to work.
