I might just point out that not all cat 6k are layer 3, but yours obviously is L3. &nbsp;The L3 ability sits in the MSFC daughtercard on the supervisor.

Simply create the VLANS and the Vlan virtual interfaces, apply IP addresses and then ping the respective Vlan sourcing from another Vlan and it will work....I find this odd since neither Vlan was placed into a routing protocol.<br />

Simply create the VLANS and the Vlan virtual interfaces, apply IP addresses and then ping the respective Vlan sourcing from another Vlan and it will work....I find this odd since neither Vlan was placed into a routing protocol.

Any ideas?

A switch is a device that filters and forwards packets of data between LAN segments.
